Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is based on a heavily modified Unity engine, known from the previous installment of the series. There are also strategic elements, but the new system, unlike the kingdom management from the previous game, has been given more depth and is better suited to the gameplay and story of Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. Each of them has been significantly changed in relation to the solutions from the card game and they have been adjusted to better fit the computer game.
During gameplay, you can follow the path of an immortal count commanding an army of undead, an angel summoning heavenly allies on the battlefield, or a trickster merrily mischievously even in the middle of the demon-filled Abyss. They have a significant impact on the course of the story, permanently changing the characters and the environment around them.
One of the novelties is the mythological progression system borrowed from the tabletop game of the same subtitle, which gives access to extremely powerful abilities. In Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous there are new characters, classes (Witcher and Oracle), archetypes and races, but also some familiar from the previous installment. In the game we also have a lot of moral choices which have a big influence on the further part of the game. It's a classic team-based RPG, in which we explore atmospheric locations, fight against enemies in real time with active pause and complete main quests and side missions, gaining experience points needed to develop the character. The action of the game was shown - like in Pathfinder: Kingmaker - in isometric view. The story focuses on the fight between good (humans and angels) and evil (demonic minions of Lord Deskari). This time, as a group of daredevils we travel through a new, darker region of Golarion, visiting a demon-infested wasteland, a besieged Crusader city and the dangerous Abyss. Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous does not directly continue the plot of the debut game by Owlcat Games studio. The developers again collaborated on the production with legendary industry veteran Chris Avellone, creator of Planescape Torment and Knights of the Old Republic II - The Sith Lords, among others. We are dealing with an indirect sequel to Pathfinder: Kingmaker, a classic isometric view RPG based on the Pathfinder paper role-playing game system, which is a modified version of Dungeons & Dragons 3.5. Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is another production from Russian indie studio Owlcat Games, founded by former employees of Nival Interactive (Silent Storm, Heroes of Might and Magic V) and My.com (Armored Warfare).
